Because it’s NOT about sex and it is hard to get more black folks to leave the mindset alone. But then again, that IS how we roll … isnt it?
Yeah it seems that way. but what i’m starting to think is that most blacks just don’t know the lifestyle actually exists for them.
I have been a black nudist for some time, Here in sothern California. i have meet a total of 5 black brothers and sister in the 25 so years of being a nudist.
I find most from my brothers and sisters I talked to about this life style are like so many people. they are eather very self contious about being seen naked in public. or associate nudity with sex, or taking a bath.
They can not imagen being naked with out being turned on sexually. We are conditioned from our adolesent years to keep our bodies covered in public. we learn in our teen years to dress more sexually wearing less and less.
Today we are not nudist if we expose 75 percent or less of our bodies. covering nipples and genitals only. nudist do cover their bodies also at times.
Then what is a nudist today?
@Robert. I’ve not been keeping up with William, (sorry!) So this is months after the fact. But anyway. where in SoCal? I hang out at blacks beach (ironic considering the theme here), which is of course generally old white guys (and gawking UCSD students). (I’m white female nudist)
plus by only covering our genitals we draw attention to them. I would say it is less sexual than most swimsuits these days. and I think it happens even before puberty. At least these days, parents refer to genitalia as “naughty bits” to even very young children.
Please let me know if you want me to but out of the conversation as this thread is not meant for me.

I would like to encourage all of us of all colors to practice naturism every day. The opportunity is there. One does not need to go, or to be in a con – fined area to be nude or naked. We are free spirits and we must behave as free spirits.
Make naturism fun. Not a chore.
Get with friends and lead by your example.

Invite your new friends over for tea, board games, computer games, music, dance, poetry, book readings. Whether your friends are gay, straight, non – naturists, or pro – naturist, black, white, green, purple. It is friendship that matters to your existence and well being. Eventually your new friends will see and understand your way of thinking and doing. And if Naturism does not appeal to your new friends, that should not be a problem. Nothing is lost. Friends are gained. Just be open and your friends will see this.

Naturism, or nudism, should be as natural as breathing. Unfortunately, it isn’t. Why? Because we have been conditioned to believe that being nude is “nasty”. It has somehow been connected to sex or porn. Social nudism is just that, social. I am 64 years old and have been a nudist for quite a few years. I have been to some nice resorts through the years. All of them without problems. At the present time, I am a home nudist. We have a privacy fence in the back yard so I spend a lot of time out there when the weather permits. My wife is an IN house nudist. She won’t be outside nude at all. She used to go with me to a nice place not too far from Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. But she won’t go anymore although she has said I can go if I want. I really don’t want to go without her though.
Unfortunately, so many women are fixated on their shapes. I have to tell you that I have seen some sights that you can’t imagine. But those people were comfortable with themselves and after all, that what’s naturism is all about. Surgical scars, women who had masectomies, all kinds of body shapes. One thing in common…they love being nude. So for those reading these forums, if you get turned on sexually, it will go away. If you are concerned about your body shape or size, nobody cares, why should you?
Go for it people. Especially us people of color.

I am a 72 year old black male, married to a Phillipina and we live in Italy. I have been a practicing naturist for 40 years, and the amount of black naturist that I have meet, I could count them on my hands. My wife and I visit many naturist venues through out Europe and we enjoy it immensely. My wife is a DOD civilian working for the army and we are in contact with many Americans and I wish there were someway I could recruit African Americans and their families into our lifestyle. if there are any black naturist that would like to correspond with us they may do so by email at naturistcpl39@yahoo.com.

This year has thrust me out of my (dis)comfort zone, regarding naturism. And it appears my participation is going to (disappointingly) be without much ethnic diversity here, in the Southern Calif.area. But, it’ll have to be ok, for now. Will have to ‘just do it!’ and lead by example, and such.
Real big challenge is finding relatively close spots, where nude swimming, hiking and camping won’t get me, and persuaded others fined or jailed. The resorts may be the safest starting points, but their expense and distances sadly distract from spontaneity and convenience. Any suggestions of places, -or even, ways to more easily enter the realm of naturism -particularly near L.A., will be highly appreciated.
Also, I haven’t come across any naturist posts of Asian, Native American, Latin or other non-White distinctions. Either I’m just grossly unaware of how folks get their naked (non-sexual) groove on, or are these groups similarly apprehensive about the practice in the U.S.?
I’d enjoy the bare company of any group, yet, there’s a deep desire to have greater blend of cultures and ‘colors’ engaged. -Especially, in this 21st century! Suggests welcomed at

My wife and I are Black and have enjoyed the Nudist lifestyle since the mide 90’s living in Virginia. We have met other Black, Oriental, Hispanic, and Indian nudists. We have traveled and visited many nudist resorts and a few beaches, and never experienced any problems from our fellow nudists.
Nudism is a liberating lifestyle. It is really sad that so few people of color are participating in this wonderful and relaxing experience. We have seen only about 25-30 black nudists in our 15 years as nudists. Nudism is so much a part of what we enjoy that we intend to never stop enjoying life being nude as often as possible.
People in our American society have been fed such a closed-minded view of nudity being associated with guilt and shame that nudity is shocking to some people. If more people would find the courage to get the facts about nudism and experience it for themselves, our society and our world would be a much better place. Plan a visit to a nudist resort and see for yourself.
We have discovered that being socially nude is the most safe and relaxing way to spend our vacation time and even to just take a day of two to spend at a nudist resort. Nudists are beautiful, more honest, and less pretentious generally speaking. The resorts we attend do background checks to keep criminals out. We feel very safe at the resorts we visit.
The atmosphere is not sexually charged, no more than a church picnic, and certainly less than a clothed beach. For those who have not experienced nudism, this might be difficult to believe, but it is definitely true.
Come on brothas and sistas be bold, be informed, be natural. Shed the textile whenever you can and free yourself from the fear and lack of information about this healthy and healing lifestyle. Get out of that soggy swim suit and jump into the pool as nature intended.
A way to meet other minority nudists could be for us to plan a weekend at a resort like White Tail Resort in Ivor, VA. If we could get as many Black Nudists and nudist want-a-be / first-timers to visit on an open house weekend in 2012 it would be a good thing if alot of people showed up. Open house is typically on a weekend in June and one in July. Newcomers get free access. There is also a free car show at White Tail Resort each summer. This is another great time for those seeking their first socially nude experience. All ages are welcome as this is a family nudist resort. This is a G rated family style resort where children are present. We can easily find out what weekends will be set up especially for open house.
William, this blog is a good idea. It just might be the encouragement that some minorities need to take the nude plunge.
This encouragement to meet up with Black Nudists should not be limited to Black people. It is extended to all people of color and to everyone else no matter what race. Can we do this?

we are a black nudist couple and have been going to wtp for years. open house weekends and annr events area great time to get to welcome newbee nudist of color. wtp is a great place to relax and a lot of fun and you won’t feel out of place
What is WTP?
White Tails Park?
WTP is now WTR. That means White Tail Resort. This nudist resort has continued to add amenities over the years and has become a luxury nudist resort with two pools, a large club house, snack bar, separate dining room, tennis courts, children’s play ground, library, hot tub, sauna, church building to worship in while nude, hiking path, office with shopping boutique, covered recreation pavilion, rental cabins, etc.
It is an excellent resort where all are welcome as long as they are true nudists. This is not the place for other intentions.
Let’s encourage as many nudists and wantabee nudists to plan a visit to White Tail Resort for the free Open House on the first weekend in June both Saturday and Sunday. There is another Open House scheduled for July. The information is published on the White Tail Resort website. Your first visit is free. Call ahead to make an appointment. Arrive in the morning if possible beteen 10am and 12 noon. On the day of the open house you must arrive before 3 to get in for free. If you can come as a couple, married or just friends please do because that is most comfortable when there is gender balance, and singles are welcome. Also a larger group of plutonic friends are welcome. The point here is freedom. I cannot stress how important it is to call ahead and let the staff know that you plan to visit.

I am a single black man in Baltimore, late 50’s, and I describe myself as a fairly new, and potential nudist. Let me explain: I like nudity and being naked at home, but have not ventured out yet. That is why I say potential. I am looking to meet other local folks who enjoy nudity, but who will allow me to cruise along at my own speed. I am not looking for hookups or anything more than acquaintances or developing friendship. Any takers?
Never having to been to Baltimore, I don’t know if they have alternative papers. Many times, you can find other indoor nudists who would never go outside but will host or attend home nudist get togethers. Or, you could post your own ad, making sure that you are talking about nudism and NOT sex. That way, you can enjoy nudism anytime regardless of the weather. Good Luck!

It may be easiest to go to a local naturist club. You can use the club locator on the American Association of Nude Recreation website (http://www.aanr.com/aanr-clubs/) to find a landed club near you. Then you and your naturist/adventurous friends can have somewhere fun, safe, and legal to learn more about the lifestyle.

Bring 2 towels per person. The only other item you need is a smile. nudism is addictive. Once you experience the great outdoors and swimming without a swim suit you will never want to wear one again. The stress from the clothed society will fall away in a few minutes. You will experience relaxation beyond anything you have ever experienced before. You can quietly relax or join in any of the games and other activities. Children of all ages are welcome as this is a family nudist resort. There is a snack bar by the pool and a full indoor dinning room. Your information is condfidential.
